Amir to attend match; Kazma set for Barca friendly

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 15: Kazma Sports Club will organize a festival on the occasion of its 45th anniversary, including a friendly football match against Barcelona Football Club from Spain, under the patronage of HH the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah on Monday. Kazma Sports Club Chairman Asaad Al-Banwan made this announcement at a press conference in the Friendship and Al-Salam Stadium Tuesday. General Secretary of the club Hussein Buakandar attended the conference, along with some personalities from the media.
Speaking on behalf of the club members, Al-Banwan expressed gratitude to the Amir who remains committed to the development of the youth and sports sector in the country. He also congratulated the supporters and members of the club on the occasion of its 45th anniversary, while enumerating the achievements of the club since its inception, including Asia’s 100th Club. He said the club will honor several prominent figures for their great contributions throughout the years during the festival.

Al-Banwan disclosed the club arranged humanitarian activities for the football stars from Barcelona, such as a visit to Abdullah House Children Care to interact with the inmate’s children.
On the other hand, Chairman of the Festival Security Committee Colonel Fahad Al-Shuwaie affirmed “we will intensify our efforts to ensure the success of this event in honor of the Amir and citizens.”
Coordinator of the Organizing Committee Khalid Al-Rawdhan said the panel is racing against time to be ready for the arrival of the Barcelona team. He added the club expects 350 guests, including the players, doctors, relatives and technicians. He admitted the visit is costly, clarifying that “even if ticket prices range from KD10 to KD150 we will not earn any profit due to the expenses for the Barcelona team.”
Al-Rawdhan revealed the club also invited Egyptian players Ahmed Hassan and Ahmed Fathi to the match.
