Notice period of Resignation
I have been working in a private company for almost 2 years and I am a Maintenance Manager, second local transfer. The contract says that the contract period is 1 year renewable automatically unless 2 months notice is given by either party. Now I have found a job with another company with a higher salary and I already have an offer but they have only given me 20 days to join the firm. Is the 60-day notice period as per contract to be followed for local transfer? What is the normal notice period for resignation as per Kuwait Labour Law?

Answer: The normal notice period in the Kuwait Labour Law is 15 days incase nothing is mentioned in the contract. In this case you have to give them a 60-day notice or compensate the firm for any period which is less than the notice period.
