Female students blackmailed

KUWAIT CITY, April 25: Personnel from the Electronic Crimes Department affiliated to the Criminal Investigation Department have arrested an Arab academician of a private university for blackmailing female students by hacking their computers and stealing their photos and documents while chatting on the Internet, reports Al-Anba daily.
Without going into detail the daily added the academician has admitted to committing the crime.

Call traders caught: Acting on information and armed with a search and arrest warrant issued by the Public Prosecution, the Farwaniya police recently raided an apartment in Khaitan and arrested three Asians for stealing telephone lines and offering illegal overseas call services to residents of the area, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
Police have confiscated communication devices and a computer from the illegal service providers and referred them to the authorities.

Bootlegger nabbed: Acting on information and armed with a search and arrest warrant issued by the Public Prosecution, the Salhiya police recently raided an apartment in Murgab and arrested an Asian for bootlegging, reports Annahar daily.
According to reports police acting on information sent a police agent to buy booze from the suspect and caught him red-handed. Police have seized from the man’s apartment 22 bottles of local booze.

56 cars impounded: The Kuwaiti Municipality during a comprehensive campaign in Khaitan has towed to its garage 56 vehicles which parked adjacent to schools and clinics, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
Most of these cars were reportedly damaged and abandoned by its owners while others were offered for sale.

Fake branded toys seized: Customs officers at the Shuwaikh Port are said to have confiscated a consignment of counterfeit branded toys, reports Al-Anba daily. The daily did not give more details.

KD 300 stolen from car
: A Kuwaiti citizen filed a case against unknown persons who broke the window of his vehicle and stole wallet containing bank cards, by which they withdrew KD 300 balance he had in his account at the bank. The man narrated he was shocked when he discovered the theft and damage caused to the vehicle. A case has been registered in that regard.
