Officer held selling fake work permits

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 12: An officer working at the Immigration Department was apprehended by security officers after forging visas for 20 individuals. He is said to have collected KD 400-500 cash for each visa.
Based on a tip-off the Director General of Immigration General Department Major General Abdullah Al-Rashed received about his activities, a team of detectives was formed to follow up the case and they uncovered the officer took money from beneficiaries to issue visas for them. Even so, he declined to seal the residencies with official stamp and the files were not entered on computer.
The culprit has since been referred to the concerned authority.

Fight in jail:
A 34-year old Kuwaiti inmate was seriously injured during a clash with four other compatriots at the Central Prison.
Securitymen at the prison, accompanied by an ambulance, sent the injured inmate to the Prison Hospital for medical care, as the other members of the feuding party were referred for investigation.

Russian robbed: Police are looking for a young Egyptian couple for stealing KD 10,000 from the bank account of their Russian co-worker who works for an investment company, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
It has been reported the couple stole the woman’s ATM card and withdrew the money. A case has been registered at the Sharq Police Station.
