GCC labor undersecretaries committees meeting in progress
Single labor draft law, human trafficking issues on the cards

Executive Director of the labor undersecretaries committee at the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Salem Bin Ali Al-Mahiri stressed here Sunday the importance of themes that will be discussed by the session on joint GCC action.
Meanwhile, Undersecretary of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor and Chairperson of the Current Session Mohammad Al-Kandari said that the history of GCC “teems with several achievements” that effectively contributed to boosting joint GCC action under the wise leadership of GCC leaders.
Al-Kandari added that such meetings and the exchange of visits represented precious chances to tap into expertise and successful projects in the member states as well as bringing systems and regulations closer with “a considerable influence” on strengthening joint action at the labor level for the well-being of all GCC states.
He also made clear that this session’s agenda is full with many important topics due to a special annual report on following up the implementation the action programs for increasing the opportunities of recruiting national workforce in the GCC states, the wages policies in the private sector and studying the legal structure of the non-governmental recruitment organizations in the GCC states.
Al-Kandari noted that among the projects that will be discussed are the single labor draft law, the joint strategic vision of GCC states on the foreign labor and human trafficking issues, in addition to the second stage of the executive decisions of the single safety and vocational health in the GCC states.
