‘Pay worker comp’ Man not drunk
KUWAIT CITY, Nov 10: The Court of Appeals upheld the verdict of a Court of First Instance that ordered an oil company to pay KD 78,000 as compensation to a staff who suffered severe injury while on duty.
The court also required the victim must be checked at the Forensics to determine the extent of damage for suitable compensation.
Man not drunk: The Criminal Court acquitted a citizen accused of consuming alcohol in public and causing chaos, and declared him innocent of all charges.
The Public Prosecution had earlier charged the defendant for the offense after a police man spotted him sitting by a transformer and arrested him without hesitation. However, the defendant’s blood sample didn’t reflect he was intoxicated.
The defendant attorney argued his client wasn’t caught in the possession of alcohol and hadn’t caused any chaos at the time of his arrest, as stated by the policeman. The lawyer maintained his client was merely sitting by the transformer with no intention of committing crime.
