‘Pilot didn’t abide by instructions’

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 27, (Agencies): Investigations conducted by Kuwait Airways Corporation (KAC) into the emergency landing of ‘Failaka’ airplane 10 minutes after takeoff due to smoke in the cockpit revealed that the pilot did not abide by instructions of the manufacturing company of the plane, reports Al-Rai daily.
An informed source said the alarm went off due to high humidity, not due to smoke.
Witnesses said the pilot caused panic among passengers as he allegedly ‘barked’ at passengers, urging them to alight as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, Kuwait Airways Corporation (KAC) asserted here Saturday that the technical committee charged with investigating into the forced landing of its Dhaka-bound KU-283 flight is still holding its meetings in this respect.
Public Relations and Media head at KAC Adel Bouresli told KUNA, commenting on the inferences made regarding the investigations, said that, “the committee which was set up on Nov 10 maintains its mission till all investigations with concerned bodies are finalized.” He also stressed that KAC will submit its report in this regard to the concerned authorities once it is completed.
Finally, he called on local media not to publish any uncorrect data on the topic, and to stick to accuracy in order not to influence the current investigations.
