Student’s prank backfires
KUWAIT CITY, Dec 23: Securitymen and anti-explosive teams rushed to a school in Bayan area after the Operations Room received information that a mine was found in the school.
The teams searched the entire premises, but nothing suspicious was found. In the meantime, securitymen came to know that the call was made from the school itself. Sources say it seemed one of the students wanted the school to be evacuated; hence, securitymen foiled his plan and did not evacuate the school.
Two stabbed in fight: Two Bedoun suffered stab wounds and other injuries in a fight that broke out among seven men in Sulaibiya area Thursday. Sources say the men used sharp objects and sticks against one another. When the Operations Room received information about the fight, it dispatched securitymen and paramedics to the scene. The injured were referred to Farwaniya Hospital, but the others escaped before the arrival of police, say sources.
Police are waiting for the injured Bedoun to recover sufficiently to start investigations and summon the others involved.
Wanted Kuwaitis nabbed: Police set up a checkpoint on Wafra Motorway and arrested three wanted Kuwaitis, in the age group of 20-30 years, and referred them to authorities.
All three of them were in separate vehicles and were wanted for their involvement in various crimes.
Motorist caught drunk: Police arrested a Kuwaiti man, in his 40s, for driving under the influence of alcohol and recovered a finger of hashish from his possession. The man was caught at a checkpoint on the Arabian Gulf Street.
Tyres, lights of car stolen: A Kuwaiti man in his 30s filed a complaint at Sulaibikhat Police Station, saying someone stole the wheels and front and back lights of his vehicle.
He said he made the discovery when he came out of his house in the morning. Criminal Evidence Department officials lifted fingerprints from the scene and investigations are going on.
