Bedoun unable to fulfil evil desires, ‘blackmails’ woman Egyptians urging revolt arrested
KUWAIT CITY, Jan 25: Police have arrested a bedoun anchor working for a private satellite TV channel for blackmailing a young Kuwaiti woman and threatening to publish her pictures on a website, reports Annahar daily
According to victim the anchor promised to marry her and lured her to his apartment. He then took pictures of the woman when she was nude with the help of his cell phone and then when the woman refused to go to his apartment to satisfy his desires, he threatened her.
The girl informed her family and the father reported the matter to the police but refused to file a case to protect the name of his daughter.
However, police are said to have arrested the anchor and deleted all pictures of the woman from his cell phone and referred him to the authorities.
He is being held at the Salhiya Police Station and records show he is wanted by law in a civil suit.
Egyptians held: The State Security police have arrested three Egyptians for distributing pamphlets critical of the Egyptian government and urging the Egyptians to revolt against their government, reports Al-Shahed daily.
A high-level security source said the suspects were taken into custody from Salmiya. The arrest came following confidential information that the men were printing and distributing leaflets against the Egyptian government to incite riots.
The source added the State Security police acting on information put the suspects under surveillance and set a trap and arrested them. Police are also said to have seized from their cars thousands of pamphlets ready for distribution.
The source added that publications urged the Egyptians to overthrow their government just like what the Tunisians have done.
During interrogation the suspects are said to have admitted to the charge.
Firm robbed: Police are looking for unidentified persons for breaking into a company in Oqila and stealing KD 9,400 in cash, KD 41,000 in promissory notes, 13 passports of the company employees and a computer, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints to identify the culprits.
Pakistani caught: Police have arrested a Pakistani man who was wanted by law involved in a financial crime worth KD 4,000, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
Without going into details the daily said the man was taken into custody by the Mubarak Al-Kabir police.
He has been handed over to the Sentences Enforcement Department.
Stealing sand: Police have arrested two Egyptians and an Indian for stealing sand from government land in Wafra, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The arrest came when a Kuwaiti man working for the Kuwait Municipality team that is tasked with removing encroachments on government land called the Operations Department of the Ministry of Interior.
The suspects have been arrested and their vehicles and equipment have been confiscated.
Passport forged: The Turkish security authorities have arrested and handed over to the Kuwaiti authorities a bedoun who was caught in possession of a forged passport, reports Al-Shahed daily.
A security source said the bedoun left Kuwait four months ago on Article 17 passport and it is believed the forged document he was carrying was sold to him by a gang of Algerian forgers to help him travel to Europe.
The man has been referred to the State Security police for interrogation.
