Egyptians in Kuwait celebrate the exit of president Hosni Mubarak
‘We cannot forget Mubarak, but Egyptians have right to future’ Free people will not tolerate tyranny, injustice, corruption: MPs

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 12: “Our respect to will of the Egyptian people and their choices and ambitions to realize true democracy. At the same time we will always remember the large role the brotherly Egyptian government and its people have played against the brutal occupation of Kuwait,” said a member of parliament on Friday.

Reacting to the resignation of former Egyptian president, Hosni Mubarak, and the victory of the Egyptian uprising, MP Hussein Al-Huraiti expressed his wishes for stability in Egypt and that the country can again regain its leading role within the Arab and Islamic world.

Future
- Many MPs further expressed the same, saying that while Kuwait can never forget Hosni Mubarak’s supportive stance with Kuwait during the Iraqi invasion, it is up to the people of Egypt to decide their future.

“What happened in Egypt is a pure popular uprising that ensures the end of any ruler that is not united with his people in every manner, such as social justice and wealth distribution. It also ensures the end of those who prompt close allies to monitor people. However long his rule is, there is no doubt his end will be tragic,” said MP Musallam Al-Barrak.

He congratulated the great Egyptian people on their determination to fulfill their goals without any compromises. “We can do nothing but pay tribute to this people. This revolution will reflect largely on every Arab ruler quarreling with his people,” he stated.

On his part, MP Dr. Yousef Al-Zalzalah also congratulated the brotherly people of Egypt for their freedom from oppression and tyranny. “We wish security and development for the Egypt and its country men so that it becomes once again the country of knowledge, faith, protection of Arabs and Islam,” he said.

Dreams

MP Adnan Abdulsamad further added that Feb 11 will always be recorded in history as the day of great victories. “We congratulate the great Egyptian people on their successful revolution and fulfilling their dreams and the immortality of their righteous martyrs,” he expressed.

Meanwhile, MP Dr Hassan Jowhar requested the Kuwaiti government to allow resident from Egyptians to express their joy on the occasion of their victory, in solidarity with the brotherly people of Egypt. However, high-ranking officials at the Ministry of Interior reportedly forbade citizens and residents from any gatherings or rallies and warned of harsh legal consequences for any violations.

Moreover, Islamist MP Falah Al-Sawagh said that the Egyptian Revolution is a clear message that free people will not tolerate tyranny, injustice and corruption. “Therefore, we congratulate the heroic and hard-working Egyptians on fulfilling their goals. We hope they successfully choose who deserves to lead Egypt,” he said.

On her part, Liberal MP, Dr Aseel Al-Awadhi stated that there is no will that triumphs the will of the people. “We remember former Egyptian president, Hosni Mubarak’s stand with Kuwait, but the Egyptian people have spoken for 18 days and we congratulate them for their freedom and for regaining their dignity,” she said.

MP Daifallah Buramiya also added that the people of Egypt have provided a great example to follow and a lesson to every despotic regime that must change the polices with their people before it is too late.
