Director of the Chest and Nursing Services Development Project at the Chest Diseases Hospital Dr Kamran Lari said — in a statement today — that the center will be the first of its kind in the Arab Gulf region as it created a vehicle of communication among the health care specialists worldwide with the aim of providing the sophisticated sciences and skills for the taskforce of the health center at McGill University.
Further, Lari reviewed the guidelines of the center’s activities including providing programs for training members of the center’s taskforce on the use of computers, along with a training program for the members of the nursing team of the Kuwaiti hospital based on the Canadian nursing criteria.
The center will also offer accredited certificates as a measure for skills and progress made by the participating members of the taskforce.
The center will also brief the trainees in the future on the surgeries conducted in Canada through videoconference technique used inside the training room which also showcases new and innovative surgerical methods, particularly in the field of sterilization and safety criteria.
The medical services offered by the new center rely on the research and expertise outsourced from the College of Medicine at the University of McGill as well as Montreal Chest Institute.
The center also offers services for all age categories, and adopts state-of-the-art medical techniques, while caters for the skills of leadership, knowledge transfer, and strategic partnerships.
Kuwaiti Ministry of Health signed an agreement with the Health Center of McGill University last October in order to carry out the five-year health services development project within the Chest Diseases Hospital.
