Sex offers used to trap, blackmail top officials

KUWAIT CITY, April 14: The Jahra police have arrested an unidentified 40-year-old Kuwaiti woman for blackmailing unsuspecting men with offers of sex, reports Al-Shahed daily.
According to reports the woman employed 14 young women who would approach men in high positions and lure them to their apartments and then take pictures in compromising positions.
Then the woman would demand money under threat of publishing the pictures on a website.
Acting on information securitymen set a trap for the woman and caught her red-handed and seized pictures from her. Police are investigating.

Gang arrested:
The Jahra police have arrested five people - two Afghans, two Iranians and one Egyptian — for stealing subsidized diesel and selling it for double the price, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The daily quoting security sources said police acting on information set a trap for the men and caught them red-handed.
During interrogation the suspects are said to have admitted to the charge.
They also said they were smuggling the diesel to Iraq.

Pakistani killed: The remains of a 33-year-old Pakistani who fell to his death from a height have been referred to Forensics, reports Al-Anba daily.
The mishap happened in Al-Zour. According to eyewitness reports the victim was installing aluminum sheets on the roof of a company. Police are investigating the death.

Wife assaulted: A Syrian woman has filed a complaint with the Abdullah Al-Mubarak police accusing her Kuwaiti husband of beating her, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to reports the arrest came when the son called the Operations Department of the Ministry of Interior and complained his father was threatening to kill his mother.
The wife was taken to a hospital for treatment. She has submitted a medical report showing injuries on her body.

Dud cheques issued: The Capital governorate police have arrested an unidentified Lebanese man for issuing two dud cheques — one for KD 140,000 and the other for $650, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The suspect has been referred to the concerned authorities.
Meanwhile, the Farwaniya police have arrested an unidentified citizen for issuing a dud cheques for KD 5,000, reports Al-Shahed daily. The suspect has been referred to the Public Prosecution.
