Sexy looks by Sri Lankan woman used to commit jewelry theft
KUWAIT CITY, April 18: Police have arrested a Sri Lankan woman for stealing expensive jewelry from shops, reports Al-Anba daily.
The daily quoting security sources said the arrest came following a call by the owner of a jewelry shop in Hawalli to the Operations Department of the Interior Ministry.
It has been reported the owner accused the woman of stealing but she denied the charge. However, when police arrived at the shop, they requested to see the CCTV film. The recording showed the woman hiding a piece of jewelry in her dress in a sensitive place.
A police source said the woman wore sexy clothes and requested salesmen to show valuable items and somehow managed to distract the salesmen and stole the goods.
During interrogation she admitted to committing 12 thefts. She has been referred to the concerned authorities and the victims have been summoned to identify her from a legal lineup and identify the stolen goods.
Asian cheated: Police are looking for an unidentified person for cheating an Asian man, reports Al-Anba daily.
According to reports the suspect convinced the man that he had won KD 20,000 in prize money. He said the prize was offered by a telecommunications company and that to receive the prize money he should first deposit KD 1,000 to a certain account number.
The victim fell for the ploy and transferred the money and waited for his prize. When the prize did not come, he began calling the suspect and to his surprise found the cell phone switched off. A complaint has been filed at the Fintas Police Station.
Juvenile criminals: Police have arrested five juveniles (from a GCC state and Somalis) for stealing cars, using them to commit thefts and setting them on fire to destroy evidence such as fingerprints, reports Al-Rai daily.
The suspects were arrested after police received several complaints from people. During interrogation the youths admitted to the charge and said they had committed 12 crimes.
They have been referred to the Juvenile Prosecution.
Kids abducted: An unidentified woman has filed a complaint with the Sulaibiya Police Station accusing her ex-husband of assaulting her and kidnapping their children, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The woman said the suspect visited her and requested to see children. He then said he wanted to spend some time with them and when she refused he allegedly beat her and left with the children.
Police are looking for the ex-husband.
