Maid said to murder Filipina compatriot Forensics said to rule out ‘suicide’
KUWAIT CITY, May 26: A Filipina housemaid died instantly after another maid, a compatriot who works for the same sponsor, stabbed her several times due to earlier disputes.
Securitymen and paramedics rushed to the location immediately after receiving information that an Asian housemaid committed suicide in her sponsor’s house in Sabahiya, Wednesday evening. However when they arrived at the scene, the rescuers could no longer do anything as the victim had already succumbed to severe injuries she sustained in different parts of her body.
Suspecting that it was not suicide, the security officers summoned a team from the Criminal Evidence Department to look into the crime scene and refer the maid’s remains to Forensics. The Forensics report proved the officers’ suspicion that the maid was murdered, so they questioned her sponsor.
According to the sponsor, the housemaid did not commit suicide and she may have been killed by another maid, her compatriot, as he noticed they have had heated arguments several times in the past.
Police then summoned the other housemaid for interrogation. She admitted the crime, informing the investigators she had heated arguments with the victim several times earlier and on that fateful day, she took a knife after another exchange of heated words and stabbed the other several times, leading to her death.
A case was registered and the suspect was referred to the concerned security department for the necessary legal action.
