Cafes offering men, women ‘secret’ meeting place closed down Nude photos taken
KUWAIT CITY, June 16, (AFP): The Ministry of Interior in cooperation with the Minister of Commerce and Industry has shut down four cafés which were operating inside a building in Salmiya and Hawalli, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
This came during a surprise campaign following complaints filed by residents of the area that the cafés were being used for illegal activities.
The daily added similar campaigns will be initiated in all governorates of Kuwait to arrest the violators of laws.
Meanwhile, the Al-Watan daily reported the violating cafés and beauty parlors which are also involved in illegal activities and entertain young men and women to meet in secret will be dealt with severely.
Nude photos taken: Police are looking for five Kuwaitis for taking nude pictures of a compatriot and threatening to publish them on a website, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to the complainant who is believed to be in his 30s, he was spending time with his friends in an apartment in Fintas.
He added the friends requested him to invite his friends and when he refused, they reportedly undressed him and took his pictures.
Two fight with knives: A Bedoun and a Syrian got into a fight and stabbed one another at the Farwaniya Hospital on Thursday. The men, one in his 20s and the other in his 30s, reportedly fought with knives. They were referred to the hospital for treatment and a case was registered against them.
Bedoun arrested: Securitymen arrested a Bedoun for consuming drugs and alcohol with one gram of heroin and a bottle of imported liquor in his possession.
While patrolling in Salmiya, the officers noticed a vehicle with tinted windows, so they signaled for the driver to pull over. When they demanded for the identification documents of the driver — a Bedoun, the officers realized he was intoxicated. They immediately searched the vehicle, resulting in the discovery of one gram of heroin and a bottle of imported liquor. They referred the Bedoun to the concerned security department for the necessary legal action.
Gunman in library: Police are looking for an unidentified man who allegedly broke into a library in Hawalli carrying a gun and was allegedly looking for a female employee, reports Al-Rai daily.
The daily did not give more details. However, the man’s description has been circulated to police patrols and a case has been registered against him.
KD 18,000 stolen: Police have arrested an unidentified Asian man for breaking into the car of a company representative and stealing a bag containing KD 18,000 reports Al-Rai daily.
According to reports the victim parked his car and entered a grocery and when he came out he saw the side glass broken and the money bag missing.
The man filed a complaint with the Nugra police and within a short time police caught the man in Hawalli.
He has been referred to the concerned authorities for interrogation.
Buying stolen phones: The Ahmadi police have taken into custody an unidentified bedoun youth for buying stolen cell phones from a citizen of a GCC state, reports Al-Rai daily.
Police records show the suspect is out of the country. The suspect was reportedly caught upon a complaint filed by an unidentified person. The daily did not give more details.
Selling pills to patients: A female Kuwaiti employee of the Psychiatric Hospital has filed a complaint with the Shuwaikh Police Station accusing an Arab secretary of the hospital for selling medicine pills to patients of the hospital, reports Al-Anba daily.
The employee added these pills cannot be given without prescription by a practitioner.
The complainant added this happened when she was on holiday and the pills went missing from her office.
