Woman among 7 people killed in accidents Many suffer severe injuries KUWAIT CITY, July 1: Three citizens, including a woman, were among seven people who died in traffic accidents taking place in different locations nationwide, in which many others suffered severe injuries.
The citizens succumbed to injuries when the driver of a vehicle carrying 4 citizens crossed a red signal near Hateen and Salaam areas and hit another vehicle driven by a Kuwaiti woman who was accompanied by her daughter. Sources said the first vehicle crashed into a lamppost and subsequently caught fire. Two of the four occupants of the vehicle crossing the red signal died on the spot and the lady victim in the other car also died, leaving her daughter in critical condition. The injured people were referred to a hospital by paramedics, as traffic police from Hawalli removed the wreckage. The corpses were deposited to Forensics.
Meanwhile, two Asians also lost their lives in a two-car collision along the Sixth Ring Road. Firemen, securitymen and paramedics rushed to the scene after the Operations Room had been notified about the accident. However, Criminal Evidences Men referred the bodies to Forensics when paramedics examined the Asians and confirmed they had already died.
In a similar incident, two citizens died, and a Bedoun with a Jordanian expatriate sustained various degrees of injuries, in a gruesome traffic collision that left the cars involved beyond repairs. Jahra Traffic Men handled the situation, as Criminal Evidences Men referred the corpses to Forensics.
In another incident, a Kuwaiti citizen was severely injured and was referred to the Mubarak Hospital by paramedics, following a two-car collision on King Fahad Motorway, opposite South Surra.
In yet another incident, two Asians suffered injuries when their truck turned turtle on Ghazali Motorway off the Shuwaikh Bridge. They were treated on site by paramedics.
And, two cars crashed along Fahaheel Expressway toward Ahmadi area and resulted in injuries to two citizens. Securitymen and paramedics were dispatched to the scene and they dealt with the situation, as traffic officers removed the debris from the road.
