‘Sex-seekers’ robbed as Iraqi woman, pimps held

KUWAIT CITY, July 26: Police have arrested an Iraqi prostitute and three unidentified men and referred them to the authorities, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. A police source the arrest came following a complaint filed by a Kuwaiti man with the Nugra Police Station. According to the complainant he invited the Iraqi prostitute and paid her KD 100 for her services. However, the source said, after he was done with her, she was surprised to find two other men waiting to have ‘fun’ with her inside the apartment. The Iraqi woman somehow managed to call three well-built pimps who rushed to the apartment at short notice. When one of them knocked on the door, the woman answered and opened the door for them. The men then claimed they were police and allegedly stole KD 750 from the three pleasure-seekers and left with the prostitute. Police are said to have arrested the woman and the three pimps and referred them to the authorities.

Woman with links: The Search and Investigation Office of the General Department of Interrogation is following up a case of an Iranian woman who allegedly had contacts with senior officials in the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor and the Ministry of Interior, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily quoting reliable security sources. The woman was reported absconding by her sponsor in 2010 and a warrant had been issued for her arrest. However through her contacts, she is said to have managed to transfer her residence permit to another sponsor without the knowledge of original sponsor.

Maid found dead: The remains of a 25-year-old Ethiopian housemaid have been referred to Forensics to identify the cause of death, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. According to reports the woman was found dead in the bathroom of her sponsor’s home. She was lying in a pool of blood.

Woman falls to death: An Asian woman reportedly fell to her death in a vain attempt to escape from her sponsor’s home in Ardhiya, reports Al-Anba daily. According to reports in an attempt to escape from her sponsor’s home she jumped from the second floor and died upon landing on the ground. The death was instantaneous.

Truck crushes worker: A Chinese worker died under the wheels of a cement blender at a construction site, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. The mishap happened in Sabah Al-Ahmad. According to reports the Egyptian driver failed to see the worker and ran him over. The driver has been detained for interrogation. In the meantime, the remains of the victim have been referred for interrogation.

Toddler cheats death: A 3-year-old Kuwaiti girl had a miraculous escape from death after she was ‘electrocuted’ inside her home in Doha, Jahra, reports Al-Anba daily. Without going into details of the incident, the daily said doctors at the Jahra Hospital revived the victim and kept her under observation in the Intensive Care Unit.

Baby abandoned in parlor: Police are looking for an unidentified woman for allegedly ‘abandoning’ her daughter inside a beauty parlor in Abu Halifah, reports Al-Anba daily. According to reports the woman left the girl in the parlor and requested to go to the bathroom and did not return. When after a while the employees reported the matter to their sponsor, the girl began to cry. She is now handed over to the police.

Workers demand pay: Twenty-five Asian demonstrators who had gathered at an unidentified location in Mahboula have been referred to a police station to solve their problems, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. According to reports the workers claim the company has not paid their salaries for several months. Without going into details the daily said the police have summoned the owner of the concerned company for interrogation and are in an attempt to solve the problem amicably.

Juveniles motive probed: Police have arrested two Kuwaiti juveniles, identified only as F.A. and B.A., for picking a fight with the guard of the Fatma Al-Zahra Mosque in a suburb of Abdullah Al-Mubarak, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. This happened when the guard refused to open the door of the mosque to the juveniles who claimed they wanted to go to the toilet. Acting on information police rushed to the spot and arrested the juveniles. Police are looking into the motives of going to the toilet.

Top official insults man: A Kuwaiti man, whose identity has not been disclosed, has filed a complaint with the Salhiya Police Station, accusing the assistant undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance of verbally abusing and humiliating him, reports Al-Shahed daily. The complainant said this happened when he went to the office of the assistant undersecretary to check on a transaction the details of which have not been given. He added for no reason the senior official got angry and began to abuse him verbally and literally threw him out of the office.

24-years illegal held: Police have arrested a 44-year-old Egyptian for violating residence law, reports Al-Anba daily. Police records show the man has been staying in the country illegally for the past 24 years. The man allegedly came to Kuwait in 1987 when he was 20 years old and since then has been staying illegally. He was caught by the Farwaniya police patrol during spot inspection. He has been referred to the Immigration Department to prepare his deportation.

Computer glitch at border: Computers at the Al-Khafji border post stopped working for three hours and as a result the travel plans of a large number of people to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia were disrupted, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. The concerned authorities put the blame on a technical hitch.

Man escapes unhurt: A Kuwaiti man escaped unhurt following a traffic accident on the Fifth Ring Road, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. The man allegedly lost control of his vehicle, hit the pavement and the vehicle overturned and came to rest in the middle of the road opposite the Kuwait Zoo. Acting on information firemen rushed to the spot and rescued the man was trapped inside his vehicle. Traffic was blocked for some time.
