Iranian man & Asian woman caught in act inside a car in Salmiya Crackdown on old cars, violators intensified
KUWAIT CITY, Aug 8: The Technical Examination Unit at the General Traffic Department (GTD) has continued its campaign against motorists who violate traffic regulations to ensure safety on the roads.
Sources revealed the campaign includes tracking down smoke-belching vehicles, which may lead to the confiscation of the vehicles or driving licenses. Sources said the impounded vehicles will be released only once the owners make the necessary repairs and after passing the technical test.
Sources added the department will also check old vehicles to make sure they meet the conditions and take strict measures against those who drive beyond the speed limit, cross the red signal, drive towards the opposite direction and commit other violations. Sources warned the department will impound the vehicles of those found violating traffic rules for at least 30 days. Sources clarified all these procedures are being taken to organize traffic flow and protect the lives of road-users.
‘Lovers’ nabbed: An Iranian expatriate and an Asian woman were arrested for committing immoral acts inside a car parked in front of a building in Salmiya area.
The culprits have since been referred to the concerned authority for necessary action.
Scribe robbed: Thieves broke into a vehicle belonging to Ayed Al-Enezi, a journalist for a local Arabic daily, just before Iftar and made away with a pair of sunglasses and KD 100 cash in Taima area.
Al-Enezi narrated to policemen in Taima that he parked the car in front of his home, so he was surprised that nobody heard the thieves breaking into the car. He believes the gang had used a sophisticated device to carry out the theft. A case was registered for investigation.
Meanwhile, thieves broke into a Kuwaiti citizen’s car in Sharq area and stole KD 4,000 cash he had just withdrawn from the bank, as he entered a mobile phone shop in the same area.
The citizen filed a case in Sharq police station and narrated he parked the car, entered the phone shop and came back to find the glass smashed, with the money missing. A case was registered for investigation.
Youth hurt in fight: An Egyptian youth was severely injured with a fracture to his right hand during a fight with another youth at a commercial complex in Nugra area.
Apparently, the Egyptian was harassing the brother of the second youth when he became enraged and assaulted him.
A case was registered for investigation.
6 beggars held: In their continuous campaign against begging in the holy month of Ramadan, officers from the Capital Security Directorate have arrested 6 beggars and referred them to the relevant authority for necessary action.
Duo caught eating: Two Asian expatriates caught eating in public before the break of fast were arrested by patrol officers near the Sulaibikhat Cooperative Society. A case was registered against them in a police station.
