Want release, but current company will not give

I am an Indian and came to Kuwait 3 years ago in 2008. I have an Article 18 residence. I am a graduate and have completed 3 years with my current company.
I want to change to another company. I know my company won’t easily give me a release. I have seen this happen to many ex-employees. What can I do?

Name withheld

Answer:
If you have already spent three years with your current sponsor and if he doesn’t give you a release, you can approach the Labour Office in your area.
According to a decision taken by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour a few years ago, anybody who has been hired from abroad and has completing three years with his firm can get a release. If the company doesn’t give the release, the ministry through a Labor Office can be approached.

take careSrivi | 8/13/2011 11:27:03 AM just file case in shoun, for release. you are the winner. you are eligible for local transfer and release. but, shoun case will take 3 to 5 months time, keep residency valid or pay 2 kd per day fine and transfer to next company. But, company should not trouble you in absconding case. take care. first you file case, before company file case. you are the winner. For settlement, you have to approach court and lawyer fees.
