Police nab 18 expats in raid on 20 illegal Khaitan call centres

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 18: Inspectors from the Ministry of Communications, in cooperation with Farwaniya police, raided 20 illegal overseas call centers in Khaitan area and arrested 18 Arab and Asian service providers, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The raids started at 9 pm and ended at 1 am. Police seized 75 land line phone equipment, 25 wireless sets, 30 mobile phones, 30 stopwatches and six hard disks from the illegal service providers.

Bootleggers held: Police arrested two Asians for manufacturing local alcohol in Mangaf.
The officers raided an apartment in Mangaf after receiving information from a Kuwaiti that the Asians are manufacturing local alcohol.  This led to the arrest of the Asians and confiscation of a large quantity of locally brewed alcohol.  The officers also found equipment used for manufacturing liquor in the apartment.

‘Royal’ attackers caught: Three young men have been arrested by Criminal Investigations Personnel for beating and stabbing a member of the ruling family.
The incident took place along Sabhan Road where the youths and the young sheikh had an argument on the right to cross the road. The three suspects assaulted the sheikh, stabbed him, and managed to flee the scene. However, detectives were able to trail them using traffic cameras. They are being interrogated by security forces.
