MoE making efforts to eradicate ‘cheating’
KUWAIT CITY, Aug 20: The Ministry of Education (MoE) has been working on a strategy to limit, if not totally eradicate, cheating during examinations, reports Alam Alyawm daily quoting sources.
Sources said the ministry intends to procure mobile phone detectors to be installed in the examination halls to prevent the students from using this device to cheat. Sources explained the ministry conceptualized the idea after noticing that the students have been getting high marks in the secondary school final exams in the last two years.
Sources added the ministry officials have suspected that modern technology has contributed to the high marks obtained by the students within the period mentioned above.
Sources said the students may have used iPhones to copy examination papers and send them to private tutors for the answers. Sources affirmed the officials also suspect a link between this problem and admission crisis at Kuwait University due to the large number of students with high grades.
