KUWAIT CITY, Aug 21: The owner of a grocery in Salmiya area filed a case in Salmiya police station and reported a thief had broken into the store and ate bread, fruit juice, and stolen KD 140 cash, 72 packets of cigarettes, and recharge telephone cards.
A case was registered for investigation to trace the thief.
Car thieves gang busted: Based on several complaints security operatives from the Capital Governorate received about a gang specialized in stealing vehicles to perpetrate criminal activities by using master keys, four individuals have been arrested in connection with the case.
The gang is said to have robbed victims by force and abandoned cars they stole at specific locations nationwide. During interrogation, the men confessed to carrying out several thefts and guided security operatives to vehicles they had stolen.
Owners of those vehicles and many victims were invited by securitymen to identify the thieves and their property. The suspects were referred to the relevant authority for further investigation.
One hurt: Two youths engaged in a fierce fight inside a commercial complex in Salmiya area and resulted in injuries to a 21-year old Egyptian.
Acting on this report, a team of paramedics accompanied securitymen to the scene and the injured youth was taken to the Mubarak Hospital, while the other member of the feuding party was taken into custody. A case was registered.
Kuwaiti held: A Kuwaiti citizen was nabbed by patrolmen in Farwaniya area after they discovered he had been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for assault in absentia.
Sources said the citizen tried to evade arrest but securitymen managed to refer him to the concerned authority.
Meanwhile, patrol officers from Hawalli arrested a citizen in his 50s sentenced to 5-years imprisonment in absentia for his involvement in a criminal case.
Securitymen discovered the man had been fined KD 5,000 by the same court that also withdrew his driving license.
He was referred to the relevant authority for necessary action.
Car broken into: A Kuwaiti woman told officers in Sulaibiya police station that an unidentified person broke the glass of a vehicle she parked near a mosque in the same area to pray and stole a mobile with the pictures of her sister’s late husband plus KD 500 cash.
Criminal Evidences Men rushed to the scene and lifted fingerprints to trail the suspects. A case was registered.
