Fingerprint system traps four ‘Europeans’ Woman running gambling den among 129 held in vice raids

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 1: During a crackdown on what the security authorities called corruption and vice, the CID men are said to have arrested 129 people — 82 men and 47 women, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The daily added the campaign was organized by the Assistant Undersecretary for Criminal Security Affairs at the Ministry of Interior Major-General Sheikh Ahmad Al-Khalifa.
During a raid on an apartment, police are said to have arrested a 50-year-old woman for running a gambling den. Police are said to have seized from her KD 7,000 cash and referred her to the authorities. The nationality of the woman has not been disclosed.
Scores of CID personnel took part in the crackdown in areas such as Jabriya, Salmiya, Salwa and Al-Shaab.

‘Europeans’ nabbed: Four ‘Europeans’ of Arab origin who tried to enter the country using forged travel documents have been arrested by police and referred for interrogation, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to reports the men’s attempt to enter the country was foiled by the fingerprint system which has been introduced at the Kuwait International Airport.
The daily added records show the four men were administratively deported from the country following their involvement in drug smuggling activities.
Police records show the men succeeded in getting the nationality of an unidentified European country. Records also show the men changed their names to beat the entry ban but could not cheat the fingerprint machine.

Cash, valuables stolen: An Ar-ab man has filed a complaint with the Nugra Police Station accusing an unidentified person of breaking into his home and stealing cash and valuables with a total worth KD 120,000, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The man said the theft took place when he was away from home.
The daily did not give more details. Police are looking for the suspect.

Tailor’s no angers man
: A Pakistani tailor has filed a complaint with the Fahaheel police accusing a Kuwaiti man of punching him in the ear, reports Al-Anba daily.
In his complaint the victim said the citizen came to him one day before the Eid with four pieces of cloth to stitch dishdashas for him.
When the tailor told the man he would not be able to deliver the goods before the Eid due to work load, the man apparently got angry and beat the tailor. The Pakistani has given police the description of the man and his car plate number.
Meanwhile, an unidentified Pakistani motorist escaped certain death when his car went up in flames in a suburb of Ardhiya, reports Annahar daily.
Without going into details the daily said firemen acting on information rushed to the spot and put out fire to the car. The man was treated on the spot by paramedics. Traffic was disrupted for some time.

Son ‘kidnapped’: A Kuwaiti woman has filed a complaint with the police accusing her ex-husband of kidnapping her son from her home in Naseem, reports Al-Anba daily.
In her complaint the woman told the police the custody of the son was given to her by a court. When police tried to contact the husband they discovered his cell phone has been switched off. Police are looking for the man.

Wanted man caught: When a 20-year-old unidentified woman filed a complaint with the police against her husband, securitymen lay in wait for the man and arrested him even before he could enter his house in Taima, reports Al-Anba daily.
The daily did not say what complaint the woman had filed against her husband but police records show the man had been sentenced in absentia and was wanted by law in many cases.
He has been handed over to the authorities.
