Govt employees who remained absent last Monday to face action KU staff in service for 20 years exempted from ‘fingerprinting’
KUWAIT CITY, Sept 3: The Civil Service Commission (CSC) will take the necessary action against ministries and other government agencies’ employees, who were absent from work last Monday and Sunday without any valid reason, reports Al-Anba daily quoting sources.
Sources confirmed a similar action will be taken against those who will not report for work after the Eid holidays. Sources said the commission will ask the government institutions to submit a list of malingering employees to punish them in accordance with the CSC regulations.
Meanwhile, the Civil Service Commission (CSC) has exempted Kuwait University employees, who have been in service for 20 years and above, from the fingerprint attendance system, reports Al-Anba daily quoting sources.
Sources revealed the decision came after a series of discussions between the commission and the university, which presented the demand in appreciation of the employees’ long years of diligent service and contributions to the institution. Sources said many other government departments and agencies have submitted a similar request and they are now waiting for the approval of the commission.
Sources added the decision was issued at a time when many ministries agreed on the implementation of a plan to punish those who violate the fingerprint attendance system through salary deduction.
