Violations won’t be tolerated: Municipality Focus on ‘safe food’

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 11, (KUNA): Director General of Kuwait Municipality Ahmad Al-Sebeeh affirmed on Tuesday that the authorities would enforce the laws against offenders without any exemptions and warned that the municipal inspectors would monitor and report any act harmful to the citizens and residents.

Staff current efforts are focusing on ensuring sound food for the citizens and residents and making sure that the specifications of the products in the market comply with safety terms, he said in a statement to KUNA.
He praised the relentless efforts of the special teams of inspectors who have been active round the clock to ensure food safety in the country.

Meanwhile, Usama Al-Duaij, the deputy director general of the municipal sector in the governorates of Hawalli and Mubarak Al-Kabeer, said the municipal authorities have taken punitive measures against violators of health standards, licensing system, regulations of public safety and food supervision.

Nine stores in Hawalli were shut down for such offenses, he said, adding that up to many stores were fined for breaching the laws. He also indicated that 17 neglected vehicles were removed.

Authorities have recently warned against leaving cars at public spots for a long period of time, out of negligence or for the purpose of selling the vehicles.
