KUWAIT CITY, Nov 8: Securitymen arrested 70 male and female youths of various nationalities during the first two days of Eid Al-Adha for engaging in illegal acts, such as alcohol and drug consumption.
Sources revealed the securitymen closely monitored the six governorates, particularly the apartments suspected of being used as venues for parties. Sources said extensive inspection campaigns were carried out in the last two days, resulting in the arrest of 70 young men and women of different nationalities in Salmiya, Hawally, Jabriya, Ahmadi and along Kabad Motorway. Sources added some of the youths were under the influence of alcohol and drugs at the time of arrest. Sources confirmed the campaign will continue to apprehend those proven to have violated the law and take the necessary legal action against them.

‘Fun’ flats raided: Acting on information and armed with search and arrest warrants, the Hawalli police are said to have raided several apartments in Salmiya and arrested 37 people - Kuwaitis and Arabs including seven women - for allegedly indulging in immoral activities, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to security sources most of the arrested people were under the influence of alcohol. Police have reportedly seized from the apartments bottles of whisky and referred those arrested to the concerned authorities.
