Asian woman jailed for adultery - Kids not mine: Kuwaiti husband
KUWAIT CITY, Nov 21: The Criminal Court sentenced an Asian woman to five years in jail for giving birth to an illegitimate baby, as a result of her extra-marital affair with an Indian man.
Attorney Abdulmohsen Al-Qattan, who represented the Kuwaiti husband of the woman in court, revealed his client filed a case against her for committing adultery. He substantiated the claim with the DNA test results, which showed the baby is not his. During interrogation, the woman admitted spending the nights with the Indian man every time her husband was out of the country. It has been reported the Kuwaiti is also not the father of the woman’s older son.
Deal cancelled: The First Instance Court has cancelled a land purchase deal in Cairo and ordered a Kuwaiti man to return a sum of KD 50,000 to a compatriot woman, in addition to KD 500 attorney fee. The court said the man sold a plot of land, which he didn’t own, to the woman.
In the plea filed by the woman through her lawyer Abdullah Al-Alanda, she said the man sold her a piece of farm land in Egypt. She said pictures were shown to her and it was offered to her at the said amount, to which she agreed, thinking it was his, considering all the papers shown to her. She had later discovered that the man wasn’t the owner and was defrauding her.
Sanousi hearing set: The Criminal Court supervised by Judge Humoud Al-Mutawa has set Dec 12 to look into a case the Touristic Enterprises Company presented against former Information Minister Mohammad Al-Sanousi for allegedly holding illegitimate funds.
The defense attorney is of the view that his client has spent his lifetime serving the country, and that it’s inappropriate and unreasonable to accuse a person who is now above 75 years old of such allegations. He urged the court to acquit the ex-minister because elements of the allegation are absent.
