KUWAIT CITY, Dec 24: Officers from General Traffic Department issued 6,355 citations and impounded 293 cars in surprise campaigns across the country at the weekend.
According to statistics, 1,358 citations were issued against motorists in the Capital Governorate where 46 vehicles were also impounded. Officers in Farwaniya issued 1,139 citations and impounded 13 vehicles, whereas 43 violations were registered against motorists in Mubarak Al-Kabeer area, besides 9 vehicles that were towed to the ministry garages. Also, in Jahra 241 citations were registered and Hawalli traffic men seized 31 vehicles and registered 1,433 citations, while officers in Ahmadi issued 1,004 and impounded 24 cars.
Meanwhile, officers at the Operations Unit registered 1,061 citations and impounded 167 vehicles, whereas traffic men at the airport towed 3 vehicles to the ministry garages and issued 76 violations against various motorists.
