Release after Contract period

I was working with a company outside Kuwait and was transferred to the Kuwait branch office in 2008.

When I joined the office in Kuwait, I was made to sign an agreement to work with the company for 2 years.

It will be 4 years in January 2012 with the same company.

Can I get a release to work in another company from now on or when? If I am denied a release, can the Labor Dept secure a release for me?

Name withheld

Answer
: You have fulfilled your contract with the company unless you signed a similar contract saying you will work another two years with the company. If you have not, then you are eligible to leave the company immediately. You have also completed 3 years with the company in Kuwait, making you eligible for a transfer. If the company refuses to give you a release you can approach the Labor Dept in your area. But if you have signed another contract you will have to wait until the completion of your contract.

leave nowSrivi | 12/31/2011 6:55:19 PM you are eligible to get local transfer after 3 years of service, whether contract signed or not signed. be careful. shoun case will take time. better convince company to give release amicably. keep residency valid, for 3 to 6 months, to finish in shoun case.
