Four Kuwaiti women perish in accident on Salmi Road Arab expat held in liquor trafficking

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 30: Four Kuwaiti women died - two of them on the spot and two on the way to the hospital — following a collision between two vehicles on a road in Salmi.
According to security sources the vehicles were carrying two families. Seven other people who suffered injuries and fractures on various parts of their bodies were rushed to the Jahra Hospital.
The remains of the victims have been referred to Forensics. The cause of the accident is not known.
In another traffic accident an Asian man who is believed to be in his 30 was seriously injured when his vehicle overturned on the Fahaheel Expressway opposite Bayan.
He has been admitted to the Mubarak Al-Kabir Hospital.
A Bangladeshi motorist has been admitted to the Adan Hospital with a broken arm following a traffic accident on the Fahaheel Expressway.
He reportedly lost control of his car and collided with another vehicle which was parked in an emergency lane.
In yet another traffic accident on the Fourth Ring Road opposite Hawalli a Kuwaiti man and an Asian were injured in a two-vehicle collision.
The cause of the accident is not known. They were given first aid at the site by paramedics.
A 21-year-old Kuwaiti who was injured in a road accident on the Maghreb Expressway has been admitted to the Mubarak Al-Kabir Hospital.
Meanwhile three Kuwaitis were injured in a traffic accident on Wafra Motorway. The injured were treated by paramedics on the spot.

Liquor peddler caught: Police have arrested an unidentified Arab man for allegedly trading in locally-manufactured booze.
According to security sources, the man was parking his vehicle in an open area and when a police patrol drove in his direction, he appeared confused.
Police then asked the man to show his ID, search his car and seized five bottles of alcohol. The man following his arrest allegedly tried in vain to escape on foot. But the police overpowered and arrested him.
The man and the contraband have been referred to the authorities.

Baby abandoned: A newborn baby was found abandoned near a shop in Mangaf area, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
A Kuwaiti woman had noticed the newborn and reported the matter to Ahmadi prosecution office. A case was registered at Abu Halifa Police Station and police are trying to locate the child’s parents.

Employer robbed: Police are looking for an Arab expatriate who allegedly stole KD 6,000 from his employer’s safe in Salhiya area and escaped, reports Al-Rai daily.
A case of breach of trust has been filed at Salhiya Police Station and a travel ban has been issued against the expatriate.
The Arab allegedly stole the money from the safe of the company which employed him. The company owner had filed the case.

27 cars impounded: Jahra municipal teams impounded 27 vehicles which were either abandoned or were displayed for sale on roads in Saad Al-Abdullah and Taima areas, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
All the vehicles were towed away to Amghara municipal garage. Acting Director of Jahra municipal branch Sami Al-Saeid said the owners can collect the vehicles after paying fines. He said more such campaigns will continue.

58 citations issued: Securitymen issued 58 citations to traffic law violators and arrested 14 people for violating residence law as well as for driving recklessly during a comprehensive security campaign launched in Ahmadi governorate, reports Al-Mustaqbal daily. Four vehicles were also impounded during the campaign.

Thieves caught: Police have arrested two expatriates — a Syrian and a Palestinian — who allegedly stole an electric motor from a house in Zahra area and sold it to a shop in Shuwaikh, reports Al-Shahed daily.
A Kuwaiti man had earlier reported the theft of the motor from his house at Zahra Police Station. After a few days, another Kuwaiti filed a complaint, saying two men sold him a motor which was stolen from Zahra area. Based on the information provided by the second Kuwaiti, police arrested the suspects and referred them to authorities.

Asian caught drunk: Police arrested an Asian for consuming alcohol in Fahaheel area and referred him to authorities, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
 Acting on complaints of residents in the area, police had rushed to the spot and had arrested the drunk.
In a separate incident, a Kuwaiti man filed a complaint at Sabah Al-Salem Police Station, saying a man driving an American vehicle ran over his eight-year-old son. The child, who had suffered a fracture in the shoulder, was rushed to Adan Hospital for treatment.

Daring robbery: Police are looking for an unidentified person who stopped an Egyptian motorist, stabbed him in the right leg, stole his mobile phone and escaped, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The Egyptian was referred to Adan Hospital for treatment. A case was registered and investigations are going on.
