Police arrest Iranian jeweler for buying stolen gold items
KUWAIT CITY, Jan 9: The Ahmadi police have arrested an unidentified Iranian jeweler for allegedly buying stolen gold ornaments from an Asian ‘thief’, reports Al-Anba daily.
According to security sources the jewelry which the Iranian purchased for only KD 3,000 was worth KD 15,000. The reports say the man was fully aware what he was buying was stolen property.
The daily quoting security sources said the arrest came when the sponsor of an unidentified maid filed a complaint with the police when she found her gold missing and pointed a finger of accusation at the maid.
During interrogation the maid admitted to the charge and said she gave it to the driver of the house. She also said the man gave her KD 1,000.
The driver and the maid have been arrested and put behind bars.
