KUWAIT CITY, Jan 10: The Ministry of Electricity and Water plans to abruptly terminate the services of its employees who have reached the legal age of retirement, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.

This is done because the ministry is afraid the level of their performance will suffer if they are informed well in advance like the mandatory three months notice period.

In view of this the ministry has addressed the Civil Service Commission (CSC) to inquire about the legality of this step and the legal consequences.

In another development, the Al-Anba daily quoting informed sources at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor said the Administrative Department of the ministry has submitted the annual report on the performance of the ministry’s employees at all departments.

Sources say exceptional degrees will be granted to employees based on this report.
