Blackmail feared in matchmaker’s album theft
KUWAIT CITY, Feb 4: The strangest case registered in Jahra in 2011 was the loss of a matchmaker’s album containing photos and details of 950 men and women seeking marriage, reports Al-Anba daily.
According to a source, a thief broke into the matchmaker’s car and stole the album about three months ago. But the case resurfaced after a 35-year-old Kuwaiti woman complained that an unidentified man has been calling her and urging her to have a relationship with him.
The woman added that she was shocked, as the caller knew all her personal details like date of birth, workplace, salary, address, marital status (divorced) and other personal information.
Sources fear that the thief might blackmail individuals or might post the information on the Internet.
Drunkard abandons car: Police are looking for an unidentified person who left his car containing a bottle of alcohol and drugs at a petrol station in Al-Nuwaiseeb, reports Al-Shahed daily.
Ahmadi security operatives rushed to the petrol station after a Kuwaiti man called the Operations Room of the Interior Ministry, saying a man in disoriented state left his car at the fuel station and went on foot to the main road to ask for lift.
The car was taken to the Directorate-General for Drugs Control.
Kuwaiti woman harassed: Police are looking for a youth who allegedly harassed a Kuwaiti woman, reports Al-Rai daily.
The woman lodged a complaint at Ali Sabah Al-Salem Police Station, saying the youth followed her until she reached her home. She provided details of the suspect’s car to police.
Gunfire to mark win: Many voters in the Fourth Constituency celebrated the victory of their candidates by shooting in the air using various firearms, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
Sources say voters closed some roads in Ardhiya, Firdous, Jahra and a section of the Sixth Ring Road opposite Abdullah Al-Mubarak suburb during the celebrations.
Some youngsters reportedly celebrated the event in their own style by performing stunts with their vehicles.
