Man-made laws cause of corruption ‘Support efforts to amend Article 2’

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 10: A number of MPs-elect and candidates who contested the recent National Assembly elections implored the necessity to support efforts to modify Article 2 of the Constitution to read as ‘Islam is the main source of legislation’, reports Al-Anba daily.

MP Mohammed Al-Khalifa affirmed his support for the issue. He said as an Arab and Muslim he fully supports this idea because this is what the Kuwaiti nation wants.

He added problems happen because people are not covered by the Islamic law.  He went on to say this is one of the reasons why the situations of the Arabs have no identity. He also called their condition pathetic.

He said the man-made laws are the cause of corruption, spread of disease and crimes. For this reason he added the Islam should be ‘the’ main source of legislation.

Meanwhile, MP Mohamed Hayef Al-Mutairi has praised the GCC states for recalling their ambassadors from Damascus and ordering Syria’s ambassadors out of their respective countries.
He added this is a good initiative but fell short of action given the daily massacres that are happening in that country every day.
