Several expats admit being forced by visa traders into violation Some say they pay huge sums for visa renewal

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 18: Several Arab and Asian expatriates admitted they are forced to violate the Kuwait residence law when they are unable to pay the high fees demanded by the ‘visa traders’ for residency renewal.

Some said they pay even KD 600 for two years visa renewal but no substantial work with regard to visa renewal is carried out after the payment is made.

Most of them pay more than KD 1,500 to realize the dream of working in Kuwait; but upon arrival, they discover they have been victimized by these visa traders. Without any real work, some of them are forced to look for a job on their own while most of them end up loitering on the streets.

On the other hand, many expatriates claim they have been working in Kuwait for a long time without facing any visa issues. They said they stayed away from ‘visa traders’ from the beginning and had contracted with good companies that respected humanity and did not take advantage of others for their inhumane personal interest.

Family VisaAzeem | 2/20/2012 8:53:09 AM I agree that a lot of expatriates are facing problem in kuwait but i also admit that if u r working in good company then u will not face visa issue. Two thing i want to say 1st kuwait Government should lift ban from family visa and 2ndly Government should take serious action against visa traders .Thanks
Work VisaAmbreen Malik | 2/19/2012 10:40:39 PM There are many expats also who are keeping there visa under companies due to personal ties and friendly relation. If you check with immigration ,it can track easily the ones who have work visa but dont live in kuwait and they only enter Kuwait before 6months to keep their residency. There are many ways people are playing with rules and regulations of the country.I feel sorry for those expats who are working hard in kuwait and have to pay a lot for visa...and some are lucky who can get away.those comapanies should be traced and should be fined also.
Family VisaMizo | 2/19/2012 11:45:29 AM To be honest I'm surprised that someone has finally delved into finding out the reason's behind the grievances and helplessness faced by expats residing in Kuwait. I sincerely hope and pray that the Family Visa ban on Bangladeshi nationals will be lifted any time soon, as it is absolutely inhumane and unjustified to impose a ban on Family Visa. Due to this many expats like me are completely frustrated and stressed out. I sincerely hope that the government will show compassion towards expats who are living in Kuwait away from their families.
