Kuwaiti woman caught employing illegals at low pay
KUWAIT CITY, Feb 18: An inspection team comprising of members from the ministries of Interior, Social Affairs and Labor and Commerce and Industry launched a surprise inspection campaign against lawbreakers and arrested a Kuwaiti woman for employing female residence law violators, reports Al-Rai daily.
An Asian woman working for a beauty salon was initially arrested for violating residence law and she told police that the salon’s owner – the Kuwaiti woman – was employing residence law violators and absconders on low salaries.
The Kuwaiti woman was unapologetic and said she did nothing wrong.
Hand chopped in brawl: Police are looking for two drunk men who allegedly cut off the hand of their host and escaped, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
A police source said a man rented a villa in Al-Bida’a to host a party and during the event, he dismissed two guests who got drunk and were annoying others. The drunkards went out and started damaging the cars of other guests and when the host tried to calm them down, one of the men allegedly chopped off his hand, while the other tried to run him over.
Woman swindled: A Kuwaiti woman has filed a complaint at Hawalli Police Station, accusing her son-in-law of swindling her to the tune of KD 170,000, reports Al-Rai daily.
The complainant said the son-in-law convinced her to invest in a restaurant specializing in seafood. It was after parting with the money that she came to know that he made her sign on a fake contract.
