MoC to conduct comprehensive study on dev of road networks MGRP, WB prep database for employment market in Kuwait
KUWAIT CITY, Feb 23, (Agencies): The Manpower and Government Restruc-turing Program (MGRP) met with a work team from the World Bank to set out joint cooperation plans and prepare a database for the employment market in Kuwait, Secretary-General of MGRP Fawzi Al-Majdali said on Thursday.
In a press statement, Al-Majdali added that during the meeting, held on Wednesday, MGRP officials discussed with the World Bank team ways of constructing a database for the employment market in Kuwait, as well as refining its effectiveness in order to facilitate making decisions concerning this issue by government officials, employers, and citizens in order to reach better results in the employment market.
He noted that constructing a database project is considered “very important, “ explaining that dispersion and scattering of data among various government institutions makes it harder to gather them back because there is not any working sector that gathers, analyzes, studies, and takes appropriate decisions in accordance with collected data.
Cooperate
Al-Majdali called all official sectors in the country to cooperate in issuing data on the employment market in Kuwait in order to support the proposed project, expressing at the same time his gratitude to Ministry of Finance for supporting the World Bank in its mission, as well as pooling together all state agencies in the country to coordinate in order to achieve the project.
The World Bank team, headed by Director of the World Bank Office in Kuwait Dr Bassam Ramadan, presented a visual lecture on introduction, strategy, and goals of a database, as well as required key indicators for the employment market in Kuwait.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Communications will conduct a comprehensive study in the coming days on the development of road networks in some areas and borders, reports Al-Kuwaitiah daily quoting an informed source from the ministry.
According to the source, the ministry will lay down a plan on monitoring the traffic violations committed by truck drivers and other road users, in cooperation with its Interior and Public Works counterparts, to guarantee road safety. He said overloaded trucks negatively affect the road networks, in addition to causing accidents. He affirmed the study, once completed, will be presented to the minister for approval.
