Vice dens raided; Maid steals gold
KUWAIT CITY, March 4: Securitymen, acting on information and armed with a search and arrest warrant, raided an apartment in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and arrested four Asians for manufacturing alcohol, reports Al-Anba daily.
Securitymen confiscated manufacturing equipment and several barrels containing the brew.
Securitymen also raided four vice dens in Khaitan and Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and arrested 18 expatriates.
Liquor seized: Police have arrested a Kuwaiti man and an Arab woman in possession of three bottles of imported alcohol, reports Al-Rai daily.
A police patrol on routine duty on the Chalets Road had stopped them for inspection and their nervousness on seeing police prompted officers to thoroughly check their vehicle.
Maid steals gold: Police are looking for an unidentified Asian housemaid who allegedly ran away with gold worth KD 4,000 from her sponsor’s house, reports Al-Rai daily.
The sponsor filed a case at Maidan Hawalli Police Station and sources say a travel ban was issued against the maid.
Trust betrayed: Police are looking for an Arab accountant who allegedly escaped with KD 6,000 belonging to his employer, reports Al-Rai daily.
The Kuwaiti owner of a foodstuffs company where the accountant was working had filed a betrayal of trust case against him at Salhiya Police Station.
Hashish found: Securi-tymen at the Kuwait International Airport arrested an Arab employee of a restaurant in possession of a piece of hashish, reports Al-Rai daily.
The man had brought the piece from his country and said it was for his personal use.
Swindler caught: Securitymen have arrested a Kuwaiti citizen wanted by law for swindling people to the tune of KD 11,000 and referred him to the Sentences Enforcement Department, reports Al-Rai daily.
Securitymen kept pursuing the swindler who used to change his cell phone number and accommodation frequently and arrested him in front of a building.
