No verdict in assault case Protest hearing today

KUWAIT CITY, March 5: The Criminal Court recently abstained from issuing a verdict in the case of a Kuwaiti man who was accused of deliberately causing harm to his brother-in-law after forcing his way into the home of the plaintiff.
According to case papers, the incident happened when the accused went to visit his sister to see if everything was fine with her. As usual, the court papers show, the accused found his brother-in-law abusing his wife and her brother tried to defend. The defense attorney Hassan Al-Ajmi said his client was mistakenly charged with a crime he did not commit. He also told the court there was no evidence to prove his client had committed any crime.

Hearing today: The Penal Section at the Cassation Court on Tuesday will look into the case of 68 Bedouns and Kuwaitis accused of participating in illegal gatherings that turned violent in Taima and Sulaibiya.
Case files indicate the Public Prosecution had previously charged the accused of defying the dispersal orders of the securitymen and disrupting public order.

Defense plea today: The Misdemeanor Court, presided over by Judge Adel Al-Saqer, will hear Tuesday the defense of MP Mohammed Hayef, who has been accused of asking religious scholars to issue a fatwa on the murder of the Syrian ambassador to Kuwait in protest against the killings of innocent civilians in Syria.
It has been reported that Hayef made the call at the height of the murders carried out by the Syrian security forces as part of the regime’s efforts to stop the massive demonstrations organized by the people demanding the ouster of their leader.

Audit to express version: The Misdemeanor Court will listen Tuesday to the testimony of State Audit Bureau Undersecretary Abdulaziz Al-Yahia and Comptroller Hanan Al-Omar in the case filed by senior accountant at the bureau, Ehsan Abdullah, who had accused some assistant undersecretaries and directors at the Ministry of Electricity and Water of engaging in anomalous acts related to the 2007 power generators project.
It can be recalled that the project was supposed to be implemented in 2007 to avert the power crisis during summer that year but it was shelved later due to the alleged irregularities committed by certain ministry officials.
