8,417 citations issued, 339 cars confiscated Two Kuwaitis among 3 dead in weekend traffic mad dash

KUWAIT CITY, March 10: Officers of the General Traffic Department (GTD) carried out a series of impromptu inspection campaigns across the country during the weekend. 8417 citations were issued, 339 vehicles were seized and 8 motorists have been detained.
According to the statistics, the officers issued 1923 citations and seized 61 vehicles in the Capital Governorate.
They issued 900 citations and seized 50 vehicles in Farwaniya.
In Hawally, they issued 1650 citations and seized 21 vehicles and in Ahmadi, they issued 753 citations and seized 8 vehicles.
In Mubarak Al-Kabeer, they registered 75 citations and seized 1 vehicle and in Jahra, they registered 863 citations and seized 27 vehicles.
Officers at the Operations Unit issued 2116 citations, seized 6 motorbikes and a buggy, and detained 8 motorists.
Officers at Kuwait International Airport registered 137 citations and seized 7 vehicles.

Weekend traffic mad dash:Three people including two citizens died and twenty people were injured due to traffic accidents in various parts of the country.
Two citizens sustained injuries following a car crash on King Fahd Road at Al-Sabahiya. One of the victims, a 28 year-old citizen later succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital. The other victim was referred to Adan Hospital for medical treatment.
A 25-year-old citizen and an Egyptian died when their vehicle toppled on Abdali Road. Their bodies have been referred to the Forensics department.
In a similar incident, an Egyptian sustained injuries when his vehicle overturned. He has been referred to Jahra Hospital for treatment.
Five Kuwaitis sustained injuries when two vehicles collided on Morocco Fast Road. The five victims have been transferred to Mubarak Hospital by paramedics Abdullah Al-Shakhs, Othman Abu Teyban and Yussuf Ibrahim.
Meanwhile, a 22 year-old Kuwaiti was injured when his vehicle overturned on Fifth Ring Road. He has been referred to the Farwaniya Hospital.
Four young Kuwaitis sustained injuries when their vehicle toppled on Kabd Road. They were referred to Farwaniya Hospital by paramedics Mohammad Mahmoud and Ibrahim Fayeq.
Six young people were injured in a car accident on Sixth Ring Road at Jahra. The victims have been referred to Jahra Hospital for treatment.
In addition, two citizens were injured when their vehicle overturned on Arabian Gulf Street. They have been referred to Mubarak Hospital for treatment.
