Woman acquitted in charges of killing own baby

KUWAIT CITY, March 17: The Misdemeanor Court presided over by Judge Wael Al-Ateeqi acquitted a female citizen from the charge of intentionally killing her baby.
Public Prosecution accused the suspect of deliberately starting a fire in the baby’s room which led to the death of the baby.
The suspect personally attended the trial sessions and denied all accusations.
Attorney Mohammad Al-Khaldi refuted all accusations against his client through the report given by Criminal Evidences Department which confirmed that the clothes worn by the suspect at the time of the incident did not have any combustible or volatile substances.
He further stressed that there weren’t enough evidences against his client to prove that she killed her own baby.
In another case, the Criminal Court on Sunday will look into a case filed by Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Ahmad Al-Rujaib against MP Mohammad Hayef for insulting him.
Case files indicate Hayef organized a press conference on Sept 26, 2010 during which he accused Al-Rujaib, who was an undersecretary at the time, and some Ministry of Social Affairs officials, of encouraging corruption; hence, they must be held responsible for the spread of corruption in the ministry.
Al-Rujaib has withdrawn the case but the defendant’s lawyers have urged him to present proof of the withdrawal to be considered as a gesture of reconciliation between the two parties.
The session was presided over by Judge Mohammad Al-Saqr.

acquitted in charges of killing own baby What a JokeTed De Hoff | 3/18/2012 1:33:25 PM Ok, she got away with it. Who started the fire?? Real simple here, you start a fire in a room. A baby is in it. Just how is an infant going to leave the room on its own to survive the fire and not perish in it?? Is anyone investigating the fact that this child was MURDERED ??? If not by the Mother, then by somebody. Sad there is not much value on life..........
