Bangladeshis grocery shop shut - promoting prostitution
KUWAIT CITY, April 12: Director of Jahra Security Directorate Major General Ibrahim Al-Tarrah ordered the closure of several groceries in Saad Al-Abdullah area for their blatant violation of rules, reports Al-Rai daily.
The step was taken after residents in the area complained that the groceries were being used to promote prostitution, trafficking in local alcohol, offering illegal overseas call services and sheltering runaway maids.
Six Bangladeshi workers running these shops were referred to Saad Al-Abdullah Police Station.
Asian held with heroin: Securitymen at the Kuwait International Airport arrested an Asian expatriate for trafficking in drugs and seized 500 grams of heroin from him, reports Al-Rai daily.
Sources say as soon as Major Sheikh Abdullah Al-Malek Al-Sabah received a tipoff from a secret agent, a team was formed to arrest the suspect.
Two caught with drugs: Police have arrested a Kuwaiti man and his Bedoun friend in possession of hashish and other narcotic pills and referred them to authorities, reports Al-Rai daily.
The men were caught on Abdali Road.
Two youths shot at: Police are looking for an unidentified person who allegedly shot at two youths and escaped in his car, reports Al-Rai daily.
The youths filed a complaint and said the incident occurred while they were standing in Sulaibikhat area. They added that the suspect came in a car, shot at them and escaped.
Cousins thrash youth: A youth was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of Adan Hospital after five of his cousins assaulted him in Sabah Al-Salem area, reports Al-Rai daily.
A fight reportedly broke out between the victim and his cousins and they beat him up brutally.
Police will summon the cousins for investigation.
Car reported stolen: A Kuwaiti man has reported the theft of his car at Jabriya Police Station, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The man said a bag containing the expired passport of his son, passports of three of his employees, two power of attorney documents, three rent contracts, two commercial licenses and seven credit cards was in the vehicle. He added that the car was parked in front of his house.
