‘Residence’ for five years eyed
KUWAIT CITY, April 16: The Interior Ministry may grant a 5-year residence permit for expatriates under Article 20 (domestic help), Article 22 (dependents) and Article 24 (self-sponsor), reports Al-Rai daily quoting reliable sources.
The sources added granting residence permit between one year and three years for expatriates holding Article No. 18 and Article No. 19 is not the responsibility of the Interior Ministry. This category of employees falls under the authority of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor.
The sources added that Interior Ministry does not mind granting residence permit of up to five years for expatriates holding Article No 17 (government employment) in accordance with the demand of the ministry.
