Owners fined as 50 cars put for sale on roadside ‘locked’ Bus driver carrying liquor, drugs

KUWAIT CITY, May 6: Farwaniya traffic patrolmen have launched an intensive campaign against the owners of vehicles parked on the side of roads and other areas being used as venues for selling second-hand cars.
The campaign was carried out in response to numerous complaints that the officers received from other motorists, who complained about the haphazard parking of vehicles in the governorate as this causes traffic jams in several areas.
The officers put locks on the wheels of 50 vehicles and issued traffic citations to the owners.  The campaign will continue to track down those who have violated traffic rules.
Security sources said the owners of vehicles with locked wheels should visit the General Traffic Department (GTD) to pay the corresponding fines before their wheels get unlocked.

Bus driver carrying liquor, drugs: A bus driver was arrested in Hassawi with 21 bottles of local alcohol and some hashish in his possession.
While patrolling the area, a security team noticed the driver loading some cartons on to the bus late at night. Suspicious of the act, the officers checked the bus, resulting in the discovery of the forbidden items.
The driver was referred to the concerned security department for the necessary legal action.

Indian arrested: Jahra securitymen recently arrested an Indian for burning used wheels in Amghara scrapyard late at night.
The suspect tried to escape from the scene after sensing police presence but the officers chased him and referred him to the Criminal Evidence Department.
During interrogation, the suspect admitted the crime, informing police that he burnt the wheels to get the copper inside with the intention of selling the material.
