Pakistani, Bangladeshi & Ethiopian stealing and selling diesel
KUWAIT CITY, May 8: The Jahra Traffic Police have arrested a three-man gang — a Pakistani, a Bangladeshi and an Ethiopian - for stealing and selling diesel from Umm Al-Aish, reports Al-Rai daily.
The men were arrested while driving along a road in Abdali. The Pakistani and the Bangladeshi had hired the vehicle of the Ethiopian to transport the stolen diesel.
They have been referred to the concerned authorities for legal action.
Two ‘robbers’ held: The Mubarak Al-Kabir police have arrested two men — a Kuwaiti and an Iraqi — for impersonating police and robbing passersby, reports Al-Rai daily.
The daily quoting security sources say police acting on information set a trap for the men and caught them red-handed.
During interrogation the suspects admitted to the charges against them. They have been referred to the Public Prosecution.
Absconder caught: The Jahra police have arrested an unidentified Kuwaiti man who had been sentenced in absentia to two years imprisonment, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to security sources the suspect was arrested on suspicion. The daily added a police patrol saw the man walking along a road talking on his cell phone.
When police asked the man if he needed help he looked at them nervously. Police then checked his name on the computer and found his name was listed as ‘absconder’.
He has been handed over to the Sentences Enforcement Department.
Cabbie robbed: An unidentified Yemeni taxi driver has filed a complaint with the Khaitan Police Station accusing a Pakistani of stealing his bank card and withdrawing KD 500 from his account, reports Al-Rai daily.
In his complaint the victim said he dropped the man at the airport and later discovered the theft of his bank card.
When he checked his bank balance he discovered KD 500 had been withdrawn. The victim rushed to the airport and complained to the authorities but the plane had left for Pakistan. Police have requested to see the CCTV footage of the bank from where the money was withdrawn.
Theft at farmhouse: Police are looking for five unidentified persons who allegedly broke into a livestock pen at an unidentified location, beat the guard, stole from him KD 200 and three cell phones and escaped with 25 heads of cattle, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The Kuwaiti owner of the pen has filed a complaint with the area police station. Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints.
B’desh in ICU: A Bangladeshi who was hit on the head by a Kuwaiti man with a blunt object during a quarrel in Abu Halifa has been admitted to the intensive care unit of the Adan Hospital, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. The daily did not give more details.
