Kuwait ‘health’ office in France seeks air ambulance for patients Dr Al-Obaid discusses health insurance of students

KUWAIT CITY, May 26: The chairperson of Kuwait’s Health Office in France Dr Hammed Al-Ghaloum said the Minister of Health Dr Ali Al-Obaid who is currently on a visit to France would coordinate efforts to provide air ambulance to transfer Kuwaiti patients receiving treatment abroad to Kuwait, reports Al-Jareeda daily.
Al-Ghaloo explained that the ambulance would be of help to patients who need special care, while being transferred directly to Kuwaiti hospitals.
He also mentioned that Dr Al-Obaid is discussing the health insurance of Kuwaiti students living in France with the concerned authorities and implored rapid implementation of the scheme, which involves dental treatment.
Meanwhile, Dr Al-Obaid has said the sector will consider financial settlements for students studying overseas and means to disburse allocations to patients receiving treatment abroad, soon after the decision of the Ministers’ Council on allowance increments has been activated.
Al-Ghaloum added that the Minister of Health will discuss with the Kuwait Institute for Medical Specialization the issue of Kuwaiti doctors’ emission to France to facilitate a healthy cooperation between Kuwait and France, while sharing experience in the health field.
He announced completion of studies on latest policies for the Kuwaiti Health Office, under the development plan of the government, which became a responsibility after his appointment. He said the move will facilitate quality medical services to Kuwaitis receiving treatment abroad.
He noted the report will be submitted to the minister for review, after a meeting with the Kuwaiti ambassador to France Ali Al-Saeed, to discuss ways to coordinate with the concerned authorities on extending residence permits for patients based on their health conditions.
