MoI vows to address Kuwait ‘traffic jams’ ‘Road network will be improved’
KUWAIT CITY, May 26: The Ministry of Interior has reaffirmed its commitment to work closely with the concerned authorities in addressing the traffic problems in Kuwait, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily quoting Director of Public Relations and Moral Guidance Department and acting Director of the Security Media Department Colonel Adel Al-Hashash.
Al-Hashash disclosed the General Traffic Department (GTD), in coordination with the relevant authorities, intends to find lasting solutions to end the traffic woes of the country.
He said several recommendations have been presented, some of which have been implemented and others are still under study.
He added the proposals include the development works on the First, Second, Third, Fifth and Sixth ring roads, as well as the Jamal Abdulnasser, Jahra and Al-Subiyyah roads. He confirmed the road network in Kuwait will greatly improve once these projects are completed.
According to Al-Hashash, the department has taken immediate steps to ease the traffic jams, in cooperation with a committee whose members include representatives from the GTD, Kuwait Municipality, Ministry of Public Works and Kuwait University.
