Expats leaving for good will need GTD clearance: Ministry ‘No traffic fines’

KUWAIT CITY, May 30: The Ministry of Interior will approve a decision to compel foreigners leaving the country permanently to present a letter from the General Traffic Directorate, similar to clearance from the Ministry of Electricity and Water to verify they have no traffic fines to settle, reports Al-Anba daily.
Meanwhile, Ministry of Interior is on the verge of obliging the military personnel to obtain clearance from their work places before traveling, just like their counterparts in the Ministry of Defense.
The daily explained the decision will be approved by the Deputy Premier and Interior Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Humoud Al-Sabah, and military personnel will finally be able to obtain clearance for traveling.
It also added the proposal is a part of the ministry’s procedures to regulate itinerant activities, and it currently affects foreigners working in the Ministry of Interior.

AutomationRajesh Gandhi | 5/31/2012 9:24:11 AM With the eGov automation, most of the Ministry have an online database. The ministries need to update their database with respect to their dues and payments, so that the expats can clear the outstanding before they leave. Running around to get the clearance letter from different ministries defeats the purpose of eGov.
