‘Step up raids, rid nation of illegals’ Find jobs for Kuwaitis: MP
KUWAIT CITY, June 12: MP Mohammad Al-Dalal urged the Interior Ministry to intensify security campaigns against residency law violators and refer them to the judiciary for deportation, as part of measures to rid the country of marginal workers among other categories of expatriates, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
In a statement to the press, MP Al-Dalal noted “It’s high time the Interior Ministry announces the strategy through which residency visas will be granted.” He also suggested the ministry must put in place mechanism to fight residency law violation by adopting legal procedures against all persons involved in the issuance of illegal residency visas. He added that the ministry should be strict with people who cause troubles by leaving workers to work elsewhere without taking legal action or informing the concerned authority about workers who escape their sponsors.
He asked the government to assign the Higher Planning Council, in coordination with Workers Bureau, the Government and Manpower Restructuring Project, and General Administration for Planning to prepare a comprehensive vision and action plan in that regard.
He explained the vision will help reduce the number of illegal people and unwanted or marginal workers, and also discourage the recruitment of undesirable people. He called for urgent programs that will enhance employment opportunities for Kuwaitis.
