Twitter, FB abuse taking root State Security summons 15

KUWAIT CITY, June 18: Personnel from the e-crimes department affiliated to the Criminal Investigation Department are looking for an unidentified man for posting the picture of a Kuwaiti woman on his Twitter account, reports Al-Rai daily.

The woman said she was shocked when her friend called her and accused her of indecent behavior and vulgar language used on the Twitter account.

The woman said it is not her account and accused ‘someone’ of using her picture from her Facebook account.

Meanwhile, acting on information and armed with a search and arrest warrant issued by the Public Prosecution, police raided the home of Kuwaiti tweeter Nasser Abul and arrested him two hours after abusing the GCC political leadership in his personal account Twitter, reports Al-Shahed daily.

Abul was referred to the State Security before handing him over to the Public prosecution.

In another development, the State Security police have summoned 15 tweeters for posting phrases abusing the political leadership of the country via the social networking website, reports Al-Dar daily.

It is reported some phrases call for sedition while others criticize the judiciary, mainly the judges who have acquitted five men from the Special Forces.
